Overview
Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) is selecting Lecturers (post-graduate teachers) for government-aided secondary schools under advertisement 06/2026. Posts (2,607) • Boys' schools: 2,329 posts. • Girls' schools: 278 posts. • Posts are in 26 subjects (Hindi, English, Economics, Sociology, Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Commerce, History, Drawing, Psychology, Education, Music (vocal and instrumental), Sanskrit, Urdu, Home Science, Geography, Physical Education, Military Science, Fine Arts, Biology, Civics, Logic, Agriculture and Crop Science). Subject-wise numbers are in Table 01 of the advertisement. Who can apply • For most subjects: a master's degree in the subject from a recognised university, and a B.Ed recognised by NCTE. Some subjects have their own rules (for example Physical Education needs a graduate degree and M.P.Ed; Fine Arts needs High School and an art diploma with B.Ed; Home Science accepts a master's degree or a B.Sc in Home Science). Check your subject in section 7 of the advertisement. • Age: at least 21 years and not more than 62 years on 1 July 2026. • Register once on the One Time Registration (OTR) system and then apply online. Important dates • Online application started: 18 September 2026. • Last date to pay the fee and apply: 17 October 2026. • Last date to correct the form: 21 October 2026. • Written exam: 15 and 16 December 2026. Fee • General, OBC, EWS and others: Rs 1,500. • SC and ST: Rs 750. • Persons with disabilities: Rs 500.

Selection Process
Written exam
120 objective multiple-choice questions (30 general knowledge, 90 on the subject), 360 marks, 2 hours. 3 marks for each right answer and 1 mark taken off for each wrong answer. Exam dates: 15 and 16 December 2026.
Interview
Interview of 40 marks. The final merit list is made from the total of 400 marks (written exam 360 + interview 40).
