Overview
Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) is selecting Assistant Teachers for primary classes (class 1 to 5) under advertisement 05/2026. Posts (12,405) • Assistant Teacher, urban primary schools of the U.P. Basic Education Council: 11,508 posts. • Assistant Teacher (attached primary) in government-aided secondary schools: 897 posts (473 in boys' schools, 424 in girls' schools). Who can apply • Graduate degree, plus a primary teacher training qualification (BTC / D.El.Ed or the other trainings listed in the advertisement), plus a pass in the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for classes 1 to 5. • Age: at least 21 years on 1 July 2026. For the urban post the upper age limit is 40 years; the advertisement gives no upper age limit for the aided-school post (retirement age 62). • You must register once on the One Time Registration (OTR) system and then apply online. You must also choose your order of preference between the two types of school. Important dates • Online application started: 16 September 2026. • Last date to pay the fee and apply: 15 October 2026. • Last date to correct the form: 19 October 2026. • Written exam: 3 and 4 December 2026. Fee • General, OBC, EWS and others: Rs 1,000. • SC and ST: Rs 500. • Persons with disabilities: Rs 300.

Selection Process
Written exam
120 objective multiple-choice questions, 360 marks, 2 hours, in English and Hindi. 3 marks for each right answer and 1 mark taken off for each wrong answer. The merit list is made from this exam. Exam dates: 3 and 4 December 2026.
